Giveaways, Fan Art, and More - our 2026 Year in Preview
WOW! I hope all of you have been thoroughly enjoying the holidays. I can’t believe 2025 is almost over. It was a great year for us at Acorn Comics - we completed TWO successful Kickstarter campaigns and tabled at three conventions plus a store signing. Not too shabby for our second year.
But now, we want to look forward. In 2026 we’re upping our game, and we want you all to know exactly what we have in store for you.
We’re going to remain focused on the four things we’ve tried to bring you since we started - project updates, art drops, highlighting other indie creators, and Paul’s random thoughts on comics, fatherhood, and life. But we are going to give you more options to interact with us, and more rewards for doing it.
CHANGES FOR THE MIGHTY OAK IN 2026:
Are you an artist? We want to share your fan art of Acorn Comics characters! Send your art showing your favorite character(s) from Heroes & Zeros or The Olympian to paul@acorncomics.com. Starting with our January newsletter, we’ll include one submission every month to share and highlight the talented artists that are following us.
Do you like free stuff? We will be randomly choosing up to two subscribers per month* to receive a mystery package of Acorn Comics goodies. This could be stickers, comics, prints, or any other cool stuff we feel like adding in there (and if you’ve backed one of our Kickstarters in the past, we’ll do our best to get you something new).
And, the most important question:
Do you want to help us keep making comics and get even MORE free stuff? We’re opening up a paid subscription tier for as little as $5/month or $30/year (we wanted to make them both lower, but Substack wouldn’t let us, but the annual if a much better value). The extra funds will help us keep paying our creative teams so we can keep our comics production on track. Paid subscribers will get exclusive art drops and previews of upcoming comics in the newsletter, secret links for free shipping on our future Kickstarter campaigns, and access to digital back issues for upcoming releases (i.e., since we have The Olympian #2 coming up, you can read a digital copy of #1 if you haven’t already). In anticipation of our Kickstarter campaign for The Olympian #2, our January issue will give paid subscribers a sneak peek at the first 4-5 inked pages of Issue 2 with letters!
We don’t want you to leave empty-handed!
