Summer's Here!
Let's Go To Some Conventions!
It’s summer, and that means convention season is in full swing! So I want to start by sharing some cons I’ll be going to, and then (of course) we’ll get some updates on our comics - including some art!
CONVENTION TIME!
I’ll start with the next convention I’m tabling at, mostly because I have a snazzy graphic to use. So if any of you are close to Jacksonville, FL on July 12, come visit me at First Coast Comic Con! I’ll have copies of Heroes & Zeros #1 and They Olympian #1, plus prints and some other merch. And I’ll have a freebie of some sort for anyone who’s backed either campaign or who’s signed up for the Heroes & Zeros #2 pre-launch page (and if you haven’t yet - please do!).
Next - well, technically first - I’ll be attending (not tabling at) Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC from 6/19-6/21! This is easily my favorite comics-focused convention, so if any of you will be there, let me know! We’ll have the kiddo with us so I can’t make any promises about free time, but it would be great to even get to say hello for a few minutes.
After both of those, the family is heading up to Mohegan Sun for Terrificon from 8/8-8/10! Once again, no table, but if you’re there let’s try to say hi.
And finally, well past summer, I’ll be tabling at PalmCon Treasure Coast in Port St. Lucie, FL on 11/8-11/9. By then, we will likely be done with the Heroes & Zeros #2 campaign, but we’ll make sure to have some new stuff ready to go if you come see us.
HOW A PAGE IS MADE
If you’ve read the preview of Heroes & Zeros 2 on GlobalComix, you’ve already seen the finished versions of these pages. But it takes a lot of creativity to make that happen. First, I write the script and send it to Devin for editing to make sure it’s as good as it can be. Then the script goes to Kasey, including descriptions of what’s happening in each panel. He reads it, and usually makes some improvements on what I described as he first pencils, then inks the pages. From there, the pages go to Maja for colors, and finally Reed gets them for letters. Only then does the finished page get out into the universe!

A Rising Tide…
This month we’re highlighting a creator with a unique tale to tell - Nick Argainbright of D4K Studios, creator of Excavator! If you backed The Olympian, you got digital copies of Excavator Issues 1-2, and Nick is about to launch his campaign for Issue 3! This series is so much fun and I can’t wait to see the next chapter.
Here’s the description from the pre-launch page:
With bounty hunters closing in, Boone & Ozzie must brave a treacherous forest…but something hungry lurks within the darkness.
On A Personal Note
Some of you know me personally, others have started following because of the comics, but you’ve probably all noticed that family is the biggest part of my life, especially my son, Vasilis. So I wanted you all to share in the joy that is his VPK Graduation! I can’t believe my little acorn has already sprouted into such a big boy. Next up - Kindergarten!
