Thanks for the feedback Margaret! I get that completely, and it’s one reason I want to explore VS format. There may be a lot of folks out there who would love our stories but prefer a different presentation.
I hate to admit it, but I have not read the digital version of Heroes & Zeros yet (I have them, it just takes me a long time to get to things these days). Anyway, that being said, and from what I've read on the WebToon platform so far, I think you've done a good job of breaking things up. I will say that for some reason I don't really care for the red borders on the top and bottom of each "panel". Not sure why, it just seems a bit odd to me. I like what I've read of the story so far, though. Now I have to go back and read my copy of the first issues :)
Also, I will say that while I voted for digital (traditional layout) in the poll, I have read a few different comics on the WebToon platform, and I did like it. It's just since I primarily read on my computer anyway, if I can get the same story two different ways I'll take the traditional format.
Thanks for the feedback Eric! On WT there’s no space between the panels, so I was trying to do something to visually separate (since this was done first as traditional layout the panels don’t flow into each other well). But I can keep playing with that.
And no need to apologize for not reading yet, I think most of us have a large “to read” stack that we have a hard time getting through. I appreciate the support and hope you love it when you do get to it!
Yeah, there is definitely a lack of natural spacing. I guess that's the hazard of the format. Most of the comics I've read on there tend to just leave lots of white space to separate things, but then I also think that the majority of them were designed specifically for the platform, as opposed to just being transplants from traditional comic formatting. I'd say if you like the red borders leave them, because it certainly does help make the separation between panels obvious.
White space is a good thought, or maybe some kind of continuous background to link everything (could come in handy on future episodes with narrower panels). Thanks for the suggestion!
Online, comics definitely have to be vertical scroll for me. Even on a laptop, the letters just become too small for me otherwise.
